Diet-To-Go is a Virginia-based meal delivery service that focuses on a sustainable, common sense approach to healthy eating. In this review, I’ll take a closer look at how compatible the company’s nutritionally balanced meals are with my dietary habits and how good they taste.
Its Chief Executive Officer Hilton Davis founded the privately-held company in 1991 as a diet meal delivery service in the greater Virginia area. Today, the company is based out of Washington DC, and Los Angeles and they are one of the leading makers of prepared meals.
Even though it sounds simple, eating healthy is difficult. There are so many complex layers and aspects to consider when buying and preparing food. As a result, many consumers get overwhelmed and give up. Of course, it doesn’t help that we often hear in the news what appears to be conflicting information about what’s healthy and what isn’t. Yesterday saturated fat was bad; today you are encouraged to get on the Ketogenic diet. So what is it? [Answer: Fat is mostly good for you.]

What I like about the approach of Diet-To-Go is that they try to change the perception of what it means to eat healthy by taking out the complexity and applying a common sense approach.
Of course, I look at that strategy through my Paleo glasses and can’t help but notice some gaps. However, it’s important to put those gaps in perspective. Many folks I know are struggling with the basic principals of healthy eating, like avoiding highly processed foods, fast food and added sugar. If you are one of those, Diet-To-Go offers a significantly healthier alternative to your current dietary habits. Plus, they help you gain an understanding of how to make healthy eating a part of your lifestyle and thus set you up for success. And if you are struggling with losing weight, you might even shed a few pounds in the process. So keep that in mind when reading the rest of this review.
